Murrays Maxi Taxi

Servicing the Bland Shire with a prompt, polite, professional Maxi Taxi, so if you need a taxi give "MAX-OR-MUZ-A-BUZ".

ABOUT US

Murray Thomas "Muz"

Gidday, I purchased the Taxi in March 2011 from Vaughn Byrne’s widow. The vehicle was too old to be used as a taxi so it was replaced with a new Toyota Tarago, 8 seat people mover, and that’s how Murrays Maxi Taxi started.

I’m a 1956 model with fairly high mileage, married, with two daughters.
After a 30 year career as an industrial gypsy (mainly electrical / instrument maintenance in mining and petrochem industries) working throughout Australia, Asia and West Africa, my wife decided it was time for me to settle down.
What made me want to drive taxis? After being a passenger in everything from a Fillipino Jeepney, Thai Tuk Tuk, Bombay Taxi to a Hackney Carriage (London black cab), I know what I dislike and am determined not to inflict the same discourtesies on my passengers.

Max Hartwig “Maxi”

Max Hartwig “Maxi” joined Murrays Maxi Taxi in February 2012, bringing a wealth of local knowledge and contacts to Murrays Maxi Taxi.

Max is a ’42 model with fairly high mileage, but well maintained and runs like a Swiss watch.
Max is married with five daughters.
Max worked for the Bland Shire for nearly 30years which accounts for his extensive knowledge of the entire Bland Shire.
Max also worked as a bus driver for many years and still serves the community as volunteer driver for Wyalong District Community Transport.
Max has also been the president of the Bland Shire Darts association for nearly 20years.

SERVICE STATEMENT

Murrays Maxi Taxis aim is to provide a prompt, proffessional service to the Wyalong district (including surrounding towns).
Ask for a quote on fares to Barmedman, Burcher, Tallimba, Ungarie, or Weethale.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Be advised that there is NO taxi network in West Wyalong (nor is one deemed necessary for a town this size).
This means there is not one network phone number to call, which will provide the closest available taxi.
There are two completely independent taxi Operators in the Wyalong district (independent = no connection all), which means you’ll need to call the taxi operator of your choice.

Keep in mind that there is no difference in price between a 4 passenger normal taxi and a Tarago maxi taxi for up to 4 passenger and you’ll only pay an extra 50% for 5 to 7 passenger which is still cheaper than making two trips in a normal 4 passenger taxi.
So it makes sense to call Murrays Maxi Taxi on 1300 8294 68 (cost of a local call), for prompt professional service.
Note: An easy way to remember Murrays Maxi Taxi phone number if by using the text keys on your phone as follows;
first dail “1300″ (this is the local call prefix), then using the text keys on your phone number keys dial “TAXI MT”. The “TAXI” part is straight forward and the “MT” at the end stands for “Maxi Taxi”.
SCHEDULE

We are endeavoring to provide a 24hour/7day coverage within the limits of our fatigue management system and vehicle management program.
Though we endeavor to provide a 24/7 service we advise that availability may be restricted during the following time slots;
Monday : 0800 to 1000hrs – Vehicle maintenance (2 weeks out of 4).
Tuesday : 1400 to 1900hrs – Wagga Airport transfer (9 weeks out of 10).
Wednesday : 0600 to 1100hrs – Wagga Airport transfer (9 weeks out of 10).
Note: Monday to Wednesday from 0000 to 0700hrs, we may not respond immediately to phone calls due to fatigue management compulsory rest periods but will follow up messages as soon as practicably. Bookings will be taken for these period as alternate rest periods can then be scheduled.
We generally do two contract runs a week to Wagga airport, which reduces our availability in the Wyalong district, though this should not cause too much inconvenience as there is another taxi operator in town who should be able to provide local cover.
The revenue generated from the Wagga runs is used to compensate for the low income periods which are inevitable in a 24/7 operation.
